Maryanna Cardoso
Maryanna Cardoso, a native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, has spent the last five years residing in the United States. She began her jiu-jitsu journey at the age of 10, inspired by her father, who introduced her to the sport. Growing up, Maryanna would often accompany her father to his training sessions, but it wasn’t until she realized the importance of self-defense that jiu-jitsu became a significant part of her life. Faced with challenges at school, she recognized the need to protect herself and began training in a social project within her neighborhood.
It was there that she met her first professor, David Vieira, who played a pivotal role as her mentor, guiding her and opening doors in the world of jiu-jitsu. Under his guidance, Maryanna’s passion for competition grew. As a blue belt, she transitioned to training at Gordo’s jiu-jitsu academy, where her competitive career truly took off. Her dedication and hard work culminated in earning her black belt, along with numerous prestigious titles, including Brazilian, World, European, and Pan American championships.
Today, Maryanna is not only a skilled athlete but also an inspiration to others in the jiu-jitsu community.
Maryanna also offers private classes. Please call to inquire about availability.
