Kids & Youth Jiu-Jitsu
Our students love learning Jiu-Jitsu because we make it fun while still teaching high-level quality techniques they can count on whether in competition or against the neighborhood bully.

Beginner Kids (6-9) & Youth (10-13) Jiu-Jitsu Program: This program is designed to teach new students the basic building blocks of Jiu-Jitsu. Below are some of the subjects we will be covering in our kid’s curriculum.
· How to takedown an opponent
· How to stop an opponent from taking you down
· How to get on top and control the position (Side Control, Full Mount, etc..)
· How to submit an opponent from the top position
· How to fight off your back to submit or reverse the position
· How to attack the back and how to defend against getting choked
· This list could go on and on but you get the idea
In this stage, of fundamentals training, we will also be covering the A, B, C’s (Always Be in Control) of our Safe Training Protocol in order to teach our students how to safely practice Jiu-Jitsu and foster a healthy emotional mindset for winning and losing.
After a student has achieved a general understanding of knowledge in our fundamentals program we may recommend moving them up to our Intermediate/Advanced Kids Program. The time frame to move up may vary from child to child. When the time comes your child’s coach will reach out to you to discuss a transfer to the Intermediate/Advanced program.
Intermediate/Advanced Kids (6-9) & Youth (10-13) Jiu-Jitsu Program: This program is designed to take our student’s skills to the next level. While the beginner program consisted of 3 days of training in the Gi, this program will unlock 2 additional(optional) days of training of No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu in order to expand their horizons for a total of up to 5 days of mat time(plan upgrade may be required). Through this program, Intermediate/Advanced students will become competition-ready in case they decide they want to compete. While competing is not necessary in order to join this group it is part of the heart of what makes this program so fun for our students so we may encourage it in order to promote growth both mentally and physically. We do not and will never force students to compete.
My boys have been at Academy since the age of 5 and now have been training for over 2.5 years. The first thing that grabbed our attention was how patient the staff was with a bunch of 5 and 6-year-olds. They took their time to teach each kid the fundamentals of jiu-jitsu. The staff made training fun and to our amazement, our kids would pay attention for the entire hour, a feat that is not easily done. 🙂 The training has paid off in all aspects. The first week of their 2nd grade in school session, we were told by staff how well behaved and disciplined our kids were. I wish I could take all the credit, but this shows they are learning more than just jiu-jitsu. They are a professional staff who truly care about their students. There is no doubt in our mind that we have made the best choice of joining Academy.
We have made great friends during our time here and consider them and staff our second family. I could go on and on. Best 2.5 years and counting!!
