Humberto Castillo Jr.

Humberto Castillo Jr. started his martial arts journey as a teenager training in Muay Thai kickboxing, emulating his father who was a boxer in his youth. As the years went on, overcoming cancer as a youth; schooling and college would be his priority while also becoming and serving as an EMT for several years in LA County. Prior to the pandemic he saw it fit to finally ignite his passion for the martial arts again and has been training in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu under the Academy | Checkmat Downey team for over two years. He is currently a purple belt; competing and assisting the youth programs.
